Himachal Pradesh has experienced a 10% monsoon rainfall deficit as of September 8, receiving 593.7 mm of rain against the normal 657.9 mm.
The deficit is most pronounced in Lahaul-Spiti, which recorded only 124.2 mm of rain compared to the normal 321.7 mm.

Impact & Risks

The uneven rainfall distribution has caused disruptions in transportation, with 64 roads blocked across the state. Agricultural activities in districts with significant deficits, such as Lahaul-Spiti and Hamirpur, may face challenges due to reduced water availability. The overall deficit could impact water resources and crop yields in affected areas.
