Scorching Heat Persists in Telangana, IMD Predicts Rain and Thunderstorms

Telangana continues to experience intense heat, with temperatures soaring across the state.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the region has been under the grip of a heatwave, with daytime highs exceeding 104°F (40°C) in several areas.
However, relief may be on the horizon as the IMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in parts of the state over the next 48 hours.

Why It's Important?

The ongoing heatwave poses significant health risks, including dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke, especially for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and outdoor workers. The forecasted thunderstorms and gusty winds may lead to localized flooding, fallen trees, and power outages in some areas. Residents are advised to stay indoors during peak heat hours and during storm activity to minimize risks.
