India Humanitarian Hub to Develop Anticipatory Action Framework for Climate Risks
IN · Published Oct 28, 2026
• The India Humanitarian Hub (IHH), a network of 15 locally led organisations, is initiating the development of an Anticipatory Action (AA) Framework to address climate-related hazards across India.
• The framework aims to enhance preparedness and response to events such as floods, cyclones, heatwaves, and landslides.

Impact & Risks

The framework is designed to mitigate the impact of climate-related hazards on vulnerable communities, including those affected by floods, heatwaves, and cyclones. It will prioritise areas with high exposure to climate risks and limited existing preparedness. The initiative aims to reduce the risks faced by marginalised groups, such as women-headed households, persons with disabilities, and landless farmers. By establishing clear triggers and pre-arranged funding mechanisms, the framework seeks to minimise delays in emergency response, potentially saving lives and reducing economic losses.
