With nearly 60% of India's net sown area being rainfed and 310 agricultural districts classified as climate-vulnerable, these technologies are enabling anticipatory climate adaptation, drought resilience planning, and extreme-weather resilience.

By providing real-time data on floods, droughts, and crop stress, these systems enable targeted interventions, minimising crop losses and ensuring food security. Vulnerable regions, particularly those dependent on rainfed agriculture, stand to benefit the most. However, the success of these technologies depends on their accessibility to smallholder farmers and the effective implementation of related policies.
