The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is preparing for a packed domestic cricket season, with four major BCCI tournaments starting in October. The Boys Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy begins on October 8, followed by the Women’s Under-19 T20 Trophy on October 9, the Ranji Trophy on October 11, and the Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy on October
To finalize the Rajasthan Ranji Trophy squad, the RCA has decided to retain the selection panel formed by the previous ad hoc committee. This decision was made under the guidance of Bhaskar A Sawant, the high court-appointed administrator for state cricket affairs. The five-member selection panel, led by Vijendra Yadav, is set to meet on Thursday to finalize the Ranji Trophy probable list.

Impact & Risks

The decision to retain the existing selection panel has raised concerns among some players about the transparency and fairness of the selection process. Questions have been raised about whether the five observers from the Colvin Shield Trophy league matches will be consulted. This could potentially lead to dissatisfaction among players and stakeholders if the selection process is perceived as biased or incomplete. Additionally, the RCA faces logistical challenges in managing preparations for the upcoming tournaments and elections simultaneously.
