• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for Jammu & Kashmir indicating fairly widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. The outlook for the subsequent two days suggests fairly widespread to widespread precipitation. Maximum temperatures in Kashmir Division have been 2-3°C below normal, while Jammu Division has seen temperatures 1-6°C below normal. Kupwara recorded the highest maximum temperature in Kashmir Division at 28.3°C, and Kathua recorded 30.4°C in Jammu Division. Minimum temperatures have been slightly above normal in Kashmir and near normal in Jammu. The forecast covers the period from 01 August 2026 to 08 August
