On June 27, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw laid the foundation stones for two significant electronics manufacturing projects in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
These projects, with a combined investment of Rs 6,750 crore, aim to establish Jewar as a leading hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.

Impact & Risks

The initiative is expected to significantly reduce India's reliance on imported PCBs, saving foreign exchange and boosting domestic manufacturing. It will also create skilled employment opportunities and support ancillary industries. However, the success of the project depends on sustained investments, infrastructure development, and the ability to attract global manufacturers. The initiative aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, aiming to make India a global electronics manufacturing hub.
