• Assam's Agriculture Minister, Pijush Hazarika, attended the 79th Foundation Day of the College of Agriculture at Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, on August 16,
• Speaking as the Chief Guest, he emphasized the need for agriculture graduates to explore entrepreneurial opportunities rather than relying solely on government jobs. The Minister announced plans for agricultural workshops across 50 colleges in Assam and the distribution of 5 crore high-value fruit saplings to support farmers. He also highlighted the state's efforts to supply paddy seedlings and horticulture saplings to flood-affected districts. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including university vice-chancellors and local MPs.

The initiatives announced by Minister Hazarika aim to modernize agriculture in Assam and encourage youth to pursue careers in farming and agri-entrepreneurship.
