The flash floods have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and hydropower projects, particularly in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors. Hundreds of lives have been lost, and many workers remain trapped in tunnels linked to hydropower projects in Rasuwa district near the Nepal-Tibet border. Mud and debris blocking tunnel entrances, along with adverse weather conditions, have complicated rescue efforts. Nepal has sought international assistance, including from India and China, to address the crisis and restore transport links using Bailey bridges.
