Governor Josh Green, alongside Kaua'i Mayor Derek Kawakami, surveyed the extensive storm damage on Kaua'i's north shore caused by Hurricane Lowell.
The storm left 250 homes with major damage and caused widespread flooding and infrastructure issues.

Impact & Risks

The storm has severely impacted isolated communities on Kaua'i, with damaged homes, compromised infrastructure, and ongoing flooding risks. Saturated ground increases the likelihood of flash flooding from additional rainfall. The damage has strained local resources, and federal assistance is being sought to expedite recovery and improve future storm resilience.
