The heavy rainfall and strong winds from Hurricane Nolo’s outer rain bands pose a significant risk of flooding and mudslides, especially in steep areas of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph (48 to 64 km/h) are expected on the west side of the islands, which could lead to downed trees and power lines. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should remain vigilant as rainfall accumulations could lead to hazardous conditions. Additionally, ongoing hurricane cleanup efforts may increase the risk of wildfires, particularly during hot, dry, and windy conditions.
