Louisiana is preparing for significant rainfall and potential flash flooding as Potential Tropical Cyclone One approaches the Gulf Coast.
According to WDSU, the system is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Arthur by Wednesday morning, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.

Why It's Important?

The primary concern is widespread flash flooding, particularly in the Northshore and southern Mississippi regions, where rainfall totals could exceed 10 inches in some areas. Coastal flooding is also a risk, with tides running above normal levels. The metro New Orleans area and river parishes could see 3-5 inches of rain, while the bayou and coastal areas may receive 1-3 inches. Isolated tornadoes and brief gusty winds are additional hazards. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should remain vigilant as conditions evolve.
