• Heavy rainfall is expected in southern states, including Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, with fairly widespread to widespread rain over Kerala and Mahe. Northern regions, including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and the western Himalayan states, are likely to experience isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph. The southwest monsoon is retreating, with its withdrawal line extending across Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and the west coast as of October 5.
