Swift-moving floodwaters in Kerr County, Texas, have caused significant destruction, with 135 homes either destroyed or heavily damaged, according to Governor Greg Abbott.
The flooding, which occurred last week, also impacted 490 additional homes and approximately 100 businesses.

Impact & Risks

The flooding has left many residents in Kerr County facing long-term housing and recovery challenges, particularly those in owner-occupied single-family homes. Businesses in the area have also suffered significant damage. Downstream communities, including Cotulla, Tilden, and Carrizo Springs, are still at risk as floodwaters continue to flow. The tropical system developing in the Gulf of Mexico could exacerbate conditions along the Texas coast, posing additional risks to residents and infrastructure.
