• Districts under the red alert include Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda. Additionally, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall (64.4 mm to 204.5 mm) across other regions, including Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Jagtial, among others. Hyderabad and surrounding districts are also under a heavy rainfall warning through September 26, with thunderstorms expected.

Impact & Risks

The forecasted rainfall could lead to waterlogging, flash floods, and disruptions in daily life across the affected districts. Areas under the red alert are at higher risk of severe flooding and damage to infrastructure. Squally winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kmph may exacerbate the situation, particularly in districts under the orange alert. Residents in Hyderabad and neighbouring districts may experience moderate to heavy rainfall, which could impact transportation and outdoor activities.
