The National Weather Service has confirmed that the storm damage in the Lansing area on September 3 was caused by straight-line winds rather than tornadoes.
However, two tornadoes were identified in southeast Michigan: an EF-0 in Lincoln Park and an EF-2 in Detroit, which traveled across Belle Isle and into Ontario.
