Minor flooding is expected in low-lying areas, urban zones, and locations with poor drainage. Ponding of water on roads and in other areas is either occurring or imminent. Excessive runoff from the heavy rainfall may also lead to minor flooding of small creeks, streams, highways, streets, underpasses, and other low-lying spots. Residents in areas such as Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker, and surrounding communities should be cautious, especially when traveling, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles.
