The flooding in Texas has left thousands without power, with Hardin and Jefferson counties among the hardest hit. In Hardin County, 12 motorists were rescued from flooded roads, and 21 residents were evacuated from an assisted living facility. Wind gusts of up to 90 mph (144 kph) caused additional damage, including downed powerlines and trees. The Pacific hurricanes are expected to produce life-threatening surf and rip currents along affected coastlines. Residents in impacted areas are advised to remain cautious and avoid flooded roads and downed powerlines.
