• Evacuation advisories for most residents of the Long Beach Peninsula, including Naples Island and Treasure Island, were lifted on Sunday following damage caused by Post-Tropical Storm Rachel.
• However, mandatory evacuation orders remain in effect for waterfront homes in the 6400 and 6500 blocks of Seaside Walk due to significant wave activity and structural damage.

Impact & Risks

The storm caused significant damage to coastal infrastructure, with eight buildings red-tagged and one yellow-tagged, indicating unsafe or restricted occupancy. Homes along Seaside Walk and nearby streets experienced water intrusion, and the bulkhead between 64th and 66th places sustained major damage. Residents in affected areas face risks of further flooding and structural instability. The Peninsula remains closed to nonresidents, and street closures are in place starting at 62nd Place. Emergency personnel continue to monitor conditions and assist residents as needed.
