Strong rip currents and large waves are creating hazardous swimming conditions, particularly in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange counties. Lifeguards are under immense pressure, with thousands of rescues already performed. Inland areas are also at risk, with temperatures forecasted to rise 10–15°F (5–8°C) above normal, potentially reaching dangerous levels of 105–112°F (40–44°C) in some regions. These conditions increase the likelihood of heat-related illnesses and water-related accidents.
