The intense rainfall is expected to impact west Madhya Pradesh, the Indo-Gangetic Plains, Delhi, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Marathwada, north Telangana, and parts of Gujarat. While the rains may provide relief to drought-affected areas like interior Maharashtra, they could also lead to localised flooding or waterlogging in low-lying regions. The wet conditions in west Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are delaying the monsoon's retreat, which typically begins around mid-September.
