A heat advisory for the lake area and surrounding regions has been extended due to persistently high temperatures. Forecasts indicate mid-to-upper 90s °F (35–37 °C) with heat indexes reaching 105 °F (40.5 °C) or higher. The advisory is now in effect until at least 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 19,
Relief may arrive on Sunday with temperatures dropping to the lower 90s °F (32–34 °C), followed by cooler conditions in the lower 80s °F (27–28 °C) at the start of the new week.
