Accurate Industrial Controls, an Indian company, has received certification from the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) for its 'Intelligent Situational Awareness and Collision Avoidance' (ISACA) technology.
The certification follows successful sea trials of a 13-meter workboat built at SHM Shipyard Limited in Mumbai.

Impact & Risks

This development positions India as a significant player in the global marine autonomy market. The ISACA technology could enhance maritime safety and operational efficiency, benefiting sectors like port security, coastal surveillance, and offshore energy. However, the adoption of such advanced systems may face challenges, including high costs and the need for skilled operators. Regulatory hurdles and integration with existing maritime infrastructure could also pose risks.
