The falling trees have led to tragic incidents, including the deaths of three individuals in separate cases between June and July. Vulnerable trees along sidewalks and footpaths, weakened by construction activities and poor management, pose risks to pedestrians, motorists, and public spaces. The lack of scientific pruning and structural risk assessments has left mature trees susceptible to uprooting during extreme weather events. Additionally, the absence of timely de-concretisation and proper urban tree management increases the likelihood of future hazards.
