Monsoon Advances in Maharashtra but Faces Dry Air Resistance

The monsoon has officially entered southern Konkan in Maharashtra, but its progress toward Mumbai, Pune, and interior regions has been slowed by dry air conditions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon's advancement is expected to pick up pace in the coming days as atmospheric conditions become more favorable.

Why It's Important?

The delayed monsoon could impact agricultural activities, particularly in regions dependent on early rains for sowing. Prolonged dry conditions may also lead to water shortages in some areas. However, the eventual arrival of the monsoon is expected to bring relief from the heat and support water resource replenishment.
