• Subtropical Storm Josephine, the 10th named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, has formed approximately 245 miles south of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
• The storm currently has sustained winds of 65 mph and is expected to strengthen over the next 36 hours, potentially reaching hurricane-force winds as it transitions into a post-tropical cyclone.

Impact & Risks

While Josephine is not expected to make landfall, its effects will still be felt along parts of the East Coast. Breezy to windy conditions are anticipated, particularly in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, through Thursday. Coastal flooding is possible during high tide from the Mid-Atlantic to Cape Cod, and wind-driven rain may briefly impact Cape Cod Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Most of the storm's rain and wind will remain offshore, reducing the risk of significant inland impacts.
