The flash floods in Nepal have caused widespread destruction, including the loss of infrastructure such as bridges and the washing away of vehicles, including buses carrying pilgrims. Villages in the affected areas have been completely submerged or destroyed. The group of 28 pilgrims from southern India narrowly escaped the disaster due to delays in their journey and the quick thinking of their driver. However, other groups, including pilgrims from Kolkata, were caught in the floods, and rescue operations are ongoing to locate and assist stranded individuals.
