The Western U.S. continues to face escalating wildfire threats, with over 140,800 acres burned in Utah alone this year. Wildfires have caused significant loss of life, property damage, and economic costs. The absence of wild horses, a keystone species, has contributed to ecological imbalances, increasing fire risks. LWHF's rewilding models demonstrate that wild horses can mitigate these risks by maintaining healthier ecosystems. However, more than 70,000 federally protected wild horses remain confined in government facilities, highlighting the need for policy changes to address this issue effectively.
