• An upper low is moving southward from eastern Oregon into Nevada, bringing snow to high terrain areas across the Southwest.
• Snow levels are expected to lower to 7,000–9,000 feet as the system progresses, with significant accumulation likely in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.

Impact & Risks

The primary impacts will be confined to high terrain areas above 7,000–9,000 feet in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. Heavy snow accumulation could disrupt travel and outdoor activities in these regions. Freezing rain and sleet may create hazardous conditions in areas with pronounced temperature inversions. Gusty winds up to 40 mph in northeastern New Mexico may lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility, with wind chills as low as 11°F (-11.7°C) near Lakeview, Oregon. Minor impacts are expected overall, but localized disruptions are possible.
