The adoption of AI in agriculture is expected to benefit millions of Indian farmers by improving productivity, reducing crop losses, and enhancing access to government schemes and services. Small and marginal farmers, in particular, stand to gain from these initiatives. However, the government has yet to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the overall impact of AI technologies on the sector. Without such evaluations, there is a risk of uneven implementation and potential challenges in scaling these technologies effectively across diverse agricultural landscapes.
