Mosquito Spraying Scheduled for Niles, Ohio, Throughout Summer
US · Published Jun 8, 2026
The City of Niles, Ohio, has announced a series of mosquito spraying events to take place during the summer months.
According to city officials, the spraying will occur on June 10, July 8, August 5, and September 8, weather permitting.

Why It's Important?

The mosquito spraying aims to reduce the population of mosquitoes, which can carry diseases such as West Nile virus. Residents in low-lying areas with stagnant water are particularly encouraged to take advantage of the free larvicide tablets to prevent mosquito breeding. While the spray is deemed safe, individuals with respiratory sensitivities or concerns about exposure are advised to take precautions. Pets and outdoor activities may also be temporarily affected during the spraying periods.
