The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for isolated pockets across the state over the next 48 hours.
The alert is due to a well-marked low-pressure area spanning South Chhattisgarh, the north coast of Andhra Pradesh, and the south Odisha coast.

Impact & Risks

The heavy rainfall is expected to cause waterlogging and localised flooding in low-lying areas of the north coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. Strong winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h may pose risks to infrastructure and safety. Local administration and disaster response teams have been advised to monitor vulnerable areas closely. Residents in affected regions should prepare for potential disruptions and take necessary precautions.
