The floods have caused significant loss of life and property, with 95 deaths reported in Nepal and three in China. Over 700 people, including international tourists, local workers, and military personnel, are still missing. The destruction of 19 major bridges and 40 kilometres of roads has isolated affected areas, complicating rescue operations. The risk of further landslides remains high, posing additional threats to already vulnerable communities. The disaster has also disrupted power and communication lines, further exacerbating the situation.
