Ohio Statewide Burn Ban Lifted, Caution Still Advised
US · Published Jun 7, 2026
Ohio's statewide burn ban, which is typically enforced during the dry spring and fall seasons, has officially been lifted.
The ban is in place annually from 6 a.m.

Why It's Important?

The lifting of the burn ban does not eliminate the risk of wildfires, particularly given the recent dry weather conditions. Residents are reminded that even small fires can quickly grow out of control under dry and windy conditions. The presence of dry vegetation increases the likelihood of fires spreading, posing risks to property, wildlife, and human safety. Localized burning restrictions may still be in effect, and failure to adhere to these could result in fines or other penalties.
