Central Florida is bracing for another day of extreme heat, with a Heat Advisory in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 17,
Afternoon temperatures are forecasted to reach the mid to upper 90s, with heat index values exceeding 110°F (43°C). Additionally, there is a 20-50% chance of showers and storms, particularly in areas from Kissimmee to Cape Canaveral and points north. These storms may bring frequent lightning, wind gusts up to 55 mph, and heavy downpours. Westerly winds aloft are expected to push storms eastward and offshore by the evening.
