The tornadoes caused significant damage across Illinois and parts of Indiana, particularly in Chicago's southern suburbs. Hundreds of thousands of residents remain without power as cleanup efforts are underway. The EF-2 tornado in Monee and Crete caused the most severe damage, with its higher wind speeds posing a greater risk to structures and safety. Communities in Oswego, Wilmington, Oak Forest, Flossmoor, and Mokena also experienced varying levels of damage, including downed trees and power lines.
