A national conference focusing on women's roles in agriculture was held on Saturday at Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU), Pusa, in collaboration with the International Society of Extension Education (INSEE).
Themed 'Redefining role of women in agri-food systems: Extension strategies for sustainable agricultural development,' the event attracted over 300 participants, including scientists, policymakers, and grassroots innovators.

Impact & Risks

The conference underscored the critical role women play in agriculture, often as invisible contributors. Without targeted policies and resources, their potential remains underutilized, risking slower progress in sustainable agricultural development. Women farmers face challenges such as limited access to mechanization, credit, and markets, which could hinder their ability to contribute effectively to the sector.
