Floods in Bihar have impacted over 46.88 lakh people across 15 districts, with rivers such as the Ganga, Gandak, Kosi, and Burhi Gandak flowing above danger levels.
Heavy rainfall in Bihar and Nepal's catchment areas has caused widespread inundation, affecting 561 gram panchayats in 88 blocks.

Impact & Risks

The floods have severely affected districts such as Bhagalpur, Patna, Saran, Vaishali, and Begusarai, displacing thousands and disrupting livelihoods. Over 11,255 people are currently housed in relief camps, while 3.10 lakh polythene sheets and 48,300 dry-ration packets have been distributed. Agricultural lands and homes have been submerged, and transportation has been hampered. The risk of waterborne diseases and further displacement remains high, especially for vulnerable populations.
