The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a dust storm warning for Pima, Maricopa, and Pinal counties in Arizona.
These storms, also known as 'haboobs,' are common during the monsoon season from June to September.

The dust storm poses significant risks to motorists, with visibility reduced to less than a quarter mile in some areas. Strong winds exceeding 50 mph can make driving hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles. The affected areas include Sells, Three Points, Topawa, and other locations in Pima County, as well as parts of Maricopa and Pinal counties. Key highways impacted include Route 86 (mile markers 113-159) and Route 286 (mile markers 12-45). Travelers are advised to exercise extreme caution as these conditions can lead to life-threatening travel scenarios.
