Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses significant health risks, particularly for older adults, individuals with pre-existing health conditions, and those without access to air conditioning. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Outdoor workers and individuals engaging in physical activities are also at risk. The county is taking proactive measures to mitigate these risks by opening cooling centers and conducting wellness checks.
