The intensifying low-pressure system could bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Rayalaseema. Squalls with wind speeds up to 70 km/h are expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Monday and Tuesday, and in Telangana later in the week. While the rainfall may replenish soil moisture and benefit standing crops like soybean, pulses, maize, and cotton, there is a risk of water-logging, flooding, and crop damage if the rain becomes too intense. The late-season rainfall could also influence the agricultural yield and water availability for the upcoming rabi season.
