The National Weather Service in Buffalo has forecasted a significant rise in temperatures across Western and Central New York this week.
Starting Monday, the region will experience seasonable conditions with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, including around 82°F (27.8°C) in Rochester.

Impact & Risks

The rising temperatures and humidity levels could pose health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Prolonged exposure to heat may lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heatstroke. The lack of significant overnight cooling could exacerbate discomfort and increase energy demands for cooling systems, potentially straining local power grids.
