The National Weather Service has issued extreme heat warnings and heat advisories for most of Utah, starting Friday, July 31, 2026, in southern regions and Saturday, August 1, 2026, for areas including the Wasatch Front.
Temperatures are expected to soar between 105°F and 110°F (40.5°C to 43.3°C) in lower Washington County and other parts of southern Utah, with the Wasatch Front also potentially reaching 105°F (40.5°C).

Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses significant risks, particularly to vulnerable populations such as young children, older adults, and outdoor workers. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heatstroke. The National Weather Service has also warned that car interiors can reach lethal temperatures within minutes, posing a severe risk to children and pets left unattended. Communities across Utah are urged to take precautions to prevent heat-related health emergencies.
