• The Bay Area is under a Coastal Flood Advisory through next Friday, with high tides expected to cause up to 1.6 feet of flooding in low-lying shoreline areas.
• The National Weather Service has also issued a Beach Hazards Statement through Monday evening for coastal areas from Sonoma to Monterey counties, including San Francisco, the Peninsula, Point Reyes National Seashore, Monterey Bay, and Big Sur.

Impact & Risks

Low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways are at risk of flooding, with up to 1.6 feet of inundation above ground level possible. Coastal erosion and isolated road closures are expected. Beachgoers face hazards from sneaker waves and rip currents, which can pull individuals into the sea. Communities from Mill Valley to Palo Alto are experiencing unusually high water levels, and infrastructure such as roads and backyards has already been affected.
