• Himachal Pradesh is preparing for a spell of wet weather following the withdrawal of the monsoon. The Meteorological Centre has forecast snowfall in the higher reaches and rain across other parts of the state starting from 6 October
• Yellow weather alerts have been issued for several districts, including Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Una, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur, from 6 to 9 October. Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected at isolated locations. The precipitation is likely to continue until 11 October, with light snowfall in the higher hills.

The weather office has warned of potential damage to standing crops and partial damage to vulnerable structures due to the expected rain and thunderstorms. The drop in temperatures, with minimums falling by 2°C to 3°C and maximums declining by 2°C to 5°C, may also impact daily activities and agricultural operations.
