The heavy rain and high winds in Southeast Alaska pose risks of localized flooding, power outages, and hazardous travel conditions. Elevated areas above 500 feet are particularly vulnerable to stronger wind gusts of up to 75 mph. In Western Alaska, wind gusts up to 50 mph and a mix of rain and snow could disrupt outdoor activities and travel. The North Slope is also dealing with light snow and winds up to 45 mph, which may reduce visibility and create challenging conditions for residents.
