Skyroot Aerospace, a Hyderabad-based private space-tech company, successfully launched Vikram-1, India’s first privately built orbital-class rocket, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 18,
This historic achievement places India alongside the United States and China in private orbital launch capabilities. The Vikram-1 rocket, a four-stage vehicle with an all-carbon composite airframe and 3D-printed liquid engines, carried multiple payloads, including satellites from Germany and Indian startups.
