• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the depression, a remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, is currently located over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas of the west-central Bay of Bengal.
• It has been moving south-southwest at a speed of 3 km/h over the past six hours.

Impact & Risks

The weakening depression poses limited risks, with the primary impact expected to be isolated rain or thundershowers over the Andaman coast. Visibility may reduce to 4 km during rainfall, potentially affecting maritime operations. Sea conditions are expected to remain smooth, minimising risks for vessels in the region. Ports along the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline are advised to remain cautious due to the hoisted Signal No. 1 warning.
