A cluster of disorganized thunderstorms over northern Mexico is being monitored for potential tropical development.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the system has a 60% chance of forming into a short-lived tropical storm within the next 48 hours as it moves northeastward along the Texas coast.

Why It's Important?

The primary risks include life-threatening flash flooding, urban flooding, and river flooding in southern and eastern Texas, as well as parts of Louisiana and Mississippi. Coastal areas may experience gusty winds and minor flooding. Residents in these regions should prepare for hazardous conditions, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
