A wildfire, named the Woodside Fire, broke out on Thursday afternoon along the Sonoma Coast near Timber Cove, California.
The fire has burned approximately 75 acres as of 5:30 p.m.

Impact & Risks

The fire has led to evacuation orders for 350 households in zone SON-1D1, including Timber Cove and surrounding areas, and evacuation warnings for 265 households in zone SON-1D2 farther inland (Press Democrat, 2026). Highway 1 has been closed between Stewarts Point and Timber Cove, disrupting traffic in the area. Air quality in Sonoma and Marin counties has deteriorated, with some areas reporting hazardous levels of smoke pollution. No injuries or structural damage have been reported so far.
